Does hitting the pillow face-first count as celebrating? ;D
Andrea: smilelupina78 on April 30th, 2008 09:32 am (UTC)
Well, as long as you are having fun with your pillow...>dg<
No, honestly, it´s just a good day remembering what mother nature has to offer...and that everything in life is a miracle (even the not-so-good-things are important)

My ritual normally is, going out in the forest and hugging trees. People going by may think I´m crazy, but hey, who cares!! ;-)

*have fun with whatever you do*

I thought Beltane is tomorrow night? My mistake. *smile*

I've heard about it...is there a special ritual to do with beloved ones? I don't know that much about the celtic calendar and rituals. I'd love to hear more!
Andrea: awesomelupina78 on April 30th, 2008 09:27 am (UTC)
It´s the actually both days and the night between. So you´re not so wrong!!

You´re right... it has to do with love-rituals.

In this special night the celtics lighted fires all around and watch them burn down. (Just like our Easter-Fires), when it almost burned down, a woman and a man who are in love jump over the flames - that´s something like a marriage.... Afterwards they would go into the sacred oak - forests and make love. The mythological part of it is, that in this night those two people aren´t only man and woman, but they are the goddess and the god. A child out of this night is a gods-child, very blessed and worshiped.
For witches it´s an important day because they get there first consecration in there coven.
Unfortunately the christian church doomed those wonderful rituals and made an unholy thing out of it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the devil. I think it´s a beautiful way of celebrating life.
Wow - that´s a lot to read....
hope you enjoyed it..will tell you more of other holy days as they come(if you like)

have a great day

Andrea: awesomelupina78 on April 30th, 2008 12:00 pm (UTC)

Was auch immer du heute machst, hab spaß dabei!!

Not a witch but it sounds like a great celebration. :)

Have fun, luv.
Andrea: smilelupina78 on April 30th, 2008 08:29 pm (UTC)
Thank´s darling!!

You don´t have to be a witch to celebrate!!!
It´s just about welcoming spring and say good buy to cold, ugly winter...
And about love...nothing dirty or something, but worshiping life itself.

Have fun too, sweetie

I have been wanting to start walking to try to loose some weight.
Andrea: smilelupina78 on April 30th, 2008 08:25 pm (UTC)
Sounds good!!
Maybe you´ll catch up some feelings from mother earth on this special day/night!! :o)

So you´re much better than me!! *is ashamed*
I try to get in shape by doing Yoga, but after about two weeks (finally some visible results...) I think: Oh I will do it tomorrow instead of today, next day it´s the same....So, I´ll never fit in my bikini without looking like a tiny, wobbly mass...LOL

Have fun and keep walking...

Ok, on your own responsibility!!>gg<

Beltane is a celtic festive-day. It´s about celebrating life and the beginning of the spring. Back then they lit fires all over the country, and when they burned down, a guy and a girl who are in love are jumping over the flames. It´s somehow a marrying ritual. After sunset the couples are hiding in the holy oakforests making love, not only as humans, but as god and goddess. If a child had been made in this night, it was dedicated to the gods. In a good way, no human burning or something.
Christian Priests doomed it as devilish. So they turned it into a christian festive.
Nowadays it´s more a witches festival, it´s celebrated with flowers and candles and special scents.

So, that´s the short version...LOL
Hope it´s not to much...
