Creative Saturday...paint a picture!
Happy Sunday, my lovelies!

Hope your weekend had been good so far. All the ones that have been affected by Sandy - I hope you stayed safe and got power and heating back. *hugs you*

ION: My Saturday had been great! One of my best friends, Sabine, talked me into going to a art class with her and another coworker (and friend) of us. You heard right, me in an art class...don´t hold back your laughter, I did laugh too! LOL Because, I´m the least artistic, creatively talented person on this planet. Seriously!
But, I went with because of the fun I was sure we´re gonna have. It´s more of spending a funfilled afternoon with friends than achieving something, even more so, since both Sabine and Hermine are extremely talented when it comes to art. Hermine is responsible for the activities of our residents in our workplace. Crafting, sewing, painting and what not..see, I knew I could never "compete" with them, but I also didn´t want to.
So, going there with expecting not too much besides a lot of fun, did work out perfectly!
The project had been, to create art on canvas, with colour, paper napkins and stuff to glue on the canvas. Sounds more complicated than it was...wanna see our results? But be aware, there are two really awesome pictures (Sabine and Hermine´s) and then there´s mine..*hides*

First: Sabine´s awesome picture..she even managed to create a Spring-like picture with Christmas-napkins! Awesome, right?

Then, here we have Hermine´s picture..you can clearly see that she´s a very experience painter, even if the photo is blurry! :)

And last but not least..mine *hides some more* (oh and riiiight..totally and completely unexpected colours there LOL)
You even can see a little glimpse of Sabine holding my canvas..*grin* She´s gonna kill me! LOL

What do you think? ;)

Buuut, this awesome day hadn´t been over after this class, nooo! Sabine and I decided spontaneously, to go see a movie. It turned out to be "Hotel Transylvania" and OMG! how funny is that movie, please? *rofl* Loved it!!
After the movie, we were hungry, so we went to some restaurant to grab dinner, followed by a "one for the road" at MacDonalds..hot chocolate!!!! *grin* Gosh, I felt so stuffed! *giggles*
All in all, it was a great day!!!

Lot´s of love,
Andi

these all look just awesome! and YES, that includes yours !!!

IMO, you can´t do wrong with art anyway. Recently I found a postcard, it said : Ist das Kunst? oder kann das weg?

wahaha, I think that covers it pretty good

I just love art workshops, you get around to watch the most awesome people in action, and most of the time something (even if only half) decent comes out of it from yourself.

I`m glad you had fun!

IMO, you got nothing to hide. Watching these pictures makes me wanna rip open a new convas and start right away. Thank you for the inspiration!

WEEEEEEEEH! Thank you so much!! I honestly have to say, I like my picture too, the only thing that bothers me is, depending on how I turn it, the thingy in the middle looks either like a bearded man, or a monster with black teeth...can´t look at it without seeing that! *grumbles*
Yeah, the teacher in the workshop said the same thing, you can´t do wrong, just go with the flow. Thing is, I can´t imagine the picture beforehand, so deciding for colours, and stuff to put on it, was incredibly difficult for me..I painted canvasas just to have something to have actors sign onto at Conventions, but that´s it.
Art workshops are great, that´s true! They show you tricks how to get this or that effect going an the likes. And true, the others had amazing pictures!! You clearly could see, who´s an experienced artist and who´d been there the first time!

Oh my..that quote!!! Soooo true sometimes!!! LOL

And fun I had!! *grin*

Thank you, again!! And, you´re welcome!! Once you´re finished with your art, don´t hesitate to show me! *nods fiercely*

*hugs*

I think all 3 pictures are beautiful. I especially like yours though. I love the simplicity of it. :0)

Thank you, hunnie! *hugs*
I wanted to make a different picture than the others did, because tbh, even though they all looked good, they all kinda looked the same, because they more or less copied the one the teacher showed us. NOT my style! LOL
I didn´t like covering the paper napkins with colour - wanted them to be present on the picture. :)

Aww sweetie they all look great, and without knowing it was yours, as I looked at the pictures yours was one of my favourites ;P

It's great that you had fun, I really wanted to try my hand with painting too but like you I have no creativity when it comes to painting... Besides there's nothing more important than hanging out with your friends doing fun stuff :D

Awww, really? That´s awesome, thank you! *grin*
The more I look at it, the more I hate the thingy in the middle..it looks like either a bearded man wit hat, or - like a monster with bad teeth. LOL But everything else, I like too. :)

I had lots of fun that day! And you really should try it too! *nods fiercely* Wait, what? You are a fountain of creativity, so painting shouldn´t be all too difficult for you!
Exactly! That´s the biggest and most important thing - doing fun stuff, and enjoying the day! :)

*squishes right back*

All these are awesome, Andi. I can't even imagine what the final piece would look like if I did it. So bravo!

Thank you! :) Oh, believe me, if I could do it, you can do it too! You are incredibly talented and creative (see your icons and arts) so it would be easy for you to put together a wonderful piece of art! *nods*

Thanks again! ♥ *smooches*

I think your painting turned out great. You should be creative more often! Art is not about being perfect...it's about sharing yourself and expressing your feelings. I like it and you should be proud. *nods*
Andrea: Teddy *hides*lupina78 on November 5th, 2012 08:51 pm (UTC)
Thank you! LOL
You totally sound like either Manu, Sabine or Eileen! *giggles*
Truth to be told, I absolutely have no sense for which colour can go with another, which brush does what and so on..and the thing that bugs me the most on my picture is the thing in the middle..I wanted it to be Yin-Yang like, but all I see is either a bearded man with hat, or a monster with black teeth LOL Guess I still have to do some repainting! ;)
(but I´m a little bit proud too *gg*)

Thanks again! *hugs*
the quiet oneenergetic_red on November 5th, 2012 09:36 pm (UTC)
LOL

I'm here with my mobile phone so I have to scroll to see the whole painting. But I'll take a look at it again tomorrow to see the old man or the monster. ^^

Painting is a huge area so I think it needs practicing and mostly testing all the things possible. If you like to show more and maybe get some more feedback feel free to join my art community. ;o)
Andrea: Dean *yeah okay*lupina78 on November 5th, 2012 09:45 pm (UTC)
Oh okay! LOL

I think I´ll retire from painting..*gg*

I currently have a "project" going on..which will never be finished, I know me! LOL I do have this little chair (got it when I was 2 or 3 years old) and since it´s old and the paint (dark green) is halfway gone, I wanted to do something with it.

So, I started to polish down the paint. That was 3 weeks ago, and now I still am at the same point I was back then..LOL
What I want to do is paint it white and then add some flowers (maybe Hibiskus) on it - OF COURSE in torquoise! LOL Don´t know exactly how this is going to go. But it will take me aaaages since I´m absolutely talent free at crafting and stuff.
Buuut, fetch me the link to your comm and I´ll gladly join, although don´t think I´ll ever show any of my "artwork" anywhere else then in here..*gg*
the quiet oneenergetic_red on November 6th, 2012 07:19 am (UTC)
Why? Don't do that! I think you're really talented. You just need to figure out what kind of style you wanna do. *nods*

I think it's a lovely idea to recreate your little chair! And I'm sure you're doing great. I try a lot of things and at the moment I don't finish it at all. My mum just told me two days ago that she was exactly the same when she was young so I have hope for my creativity. ^^

I approved your request to join. Welcome and have fun. Right now there's not much to see but I hope that changes soon.

Sounds like a fun art class - and I love what you've all created. You've got me wondering if there's anything similar in my area, I'm all for trying new fun things, so thank you for that.
Andrea: Jensen: Hi!lupina78 on November 9th, 2012 08:51 am (UTC)
Yep, it was so much fun to participate in this workshop! It was my first time doing something like that, and allthough most people there were experienced already, I never felt "unwelcome" there. And, I had a great afternoon with friends - that was the main reason to go. :)
Hmm..the hardware store in our town always hosts such workshops/art classes around the time of Easter and Christmas...there are different workshops, like crafting Easter-Bunnies from straw, or creating door wraths, to pottery and painting. You only have to pay for the material you purchase there (cost me around 20 Euros, all in all) and all you have to bring is enthusiasm! *grin* I hope you´ll find something similiar in your area! *crosses fingers*
My pleasure, and thank you for your lovely comment! ♥
