Amy is a true miracle!
Karin´s update via hugsforamy

Amy pulled through, people! There had been some complications during surgery, they lost her one time for a moment because of bleedings, but they got the tumor out along with a small part of her stomach. The doctor said that I will hear more tomorrow when things are a bit calmed down.

She is now being held in an artificial coma because of the huge surgery (I think it’s now been 4/5 hours?) and because of the bleedings. Please understand that the fight is not over. Being held in a coma is not a good thing. It means they drug her a lot to keep her under and she will not be breathing on her own, which can cause damage. I know that she has been through it all before, it took a lot of training, but now again, it breaks my heart. Also because of all the tubes and wires, the chance of an infection is higher. It can take days for her to wake up and recover again. And chances are she may not even wake up at all, that is always the danger with a coma :(

I don’t want to be a downer, sorry. This is already a huge victory. Amy survived the surgery and that is really a miracle. I can’t believe she is now lying in the room next to me. Maybe not breathing on her own, but still there. Amy really is a fighter, I have no other word.

I don´t have words either, other than to say that she herself is the true miracle here.
She took those really bad odds of 10% surviving and turned them into HELL YEAH I´m gonna survive this! Sure thing, it isn´t over yet, but look at all those horrible, horrible stuff happening to Amy and she ALWAYS fought her way back into life, so I have no doubt she´ll do the same now.

Still, let´s keep her in our thoughts and prayers, because I strongly believe that the more people think of her, the more intense she´s feeling it while being in coma, if she realizes it or not. Amy, keep on fighting! We love you!!! <3

Love,
Andi

I'm really happy to hear that sweetheart! I thought about her and really, really hope she would be able to take her chance. I understand that she is still in danger. But the first battle is over and now I hope she will win the whole fight too.

*hugs you tightly*

It´s a huge victory for her surviving the surgery, but I had no doubt, with her being the brave girl that she is...I admire Amy for all of her willpower and the neverending will to live. She´s my hero.

*hugs back equally tight*

Same here!

But as much as I hate to say it, I just read another update from her friend...Amy had to be revived again today, her hearbeat isn´t steady and can´t work on its own..they don´t know how often they can bring her back without causing her too much damage. If she doesn´t get better within the next 24 hours, she´s a lost cause to them..I fear that her body will have the last word in this, not her strong willpower...but I won´t allow myself to think the unthinkable...*cries*

That's great news. Thanks for letting us know.

The fact that she survived the surgery alone is amazing.
But she´s in trouble now..they already had to revive her once today and once during the surgery, and if her heartbeat doesn´t get stable within the next 24 hours, they won´t revive her anymore...I don´t know what to think or feel about it...

I try to update as often as I can, I promise.
